The Magic Drum and other favourite stories' is a moral-value based book written by Sudha Murty. The book has many great stories. All of the stories were really good. I enjoyed reading them. Although all the stories were good, my favourite were:-Nine questions for the princess, A lesson for uncles and Golden silence.
The story; Nine questions for the princess was my favourite because the story was moral based and made the princess realize that there was someone smarter than her. And she needs to accept the fact.
'Golden silence 'is probably the best story I have ever read. It teaches us the moral 'silence is Golden , but speech is silver'. The story is about a boy who never keeps quiet, but after when his friend hits the crow because it was cawing. He realizes that his continuous talking could be a disaster and then he starts to respect silence.
Another story which I liked was 'A lesson for Uncles' ....it was a pleasure reading this story as a mere boy of 12 teaches his uncles a lesson of minding your own business.
Overall, The book was great. It should be read by everyone of my age. I have read many books written by Sudha Murty, but this was my favorite.
